  • The company has a mobile app that allows customers to monitor their electricity consumption, receive energy-saving alerts and manage their bills.
  • Hola Luz offers an electricity tariff powered by 100% renewable energy.

Generally speaking, Endesa offers more competitive rates than Holaluz. For example, Endesa’s fixed rate (One Luz) is around 0.136 €/kWh, compared with Holaluz’s 0.142–0.179 €/kWh, according to recent comparisons.

In a typical comparison, an annual bill would be around €1,079 with Endesa, compared to €2,420 with Holaluz for a typical household. Although Holaluz stands out for offering 100 per cent renewable energy, in terms of price alone, Endesa usually comes out on top.

The standard cost per kWh under Holaluz’s ‘Clásica’ tariff is around 0.142 €/kWh.

Under its time-of-use tariff (‘Tariff 3’), prices vary depending on the time of day:

– Peak: 0.211 €/kWh

– Standard: €0.139/kWh

– Off-peak: €0.104/kWh

With their “Justa” option, they charge a fixed monthly fee tailored to your historical consumption.

From strong growth to financial difficulties, Holaluz has accumulated significant losses in recent years (over €54 million, down to €31 million in 2024).

It faced allegations of non-payment of tolls and received numerous complaints relating to late payments or contractual changes. To tackle its debt, it negotiated a restructuring and secured court approval for a plan ratified by the court in June 2025. Furthermore, in January 2025, a partial strike broke out over the abolition of remote working.

Like any other energy supplier, Holaluz will cut off or suspend your supply if your bill remains unpaid. It may also apply administrative and late payment charges.

Furthermore, it will report the debt to the distribution network operator, which could lead to measures such as your name being added to debt registers if the matter progresses. In extreme and repeated cases, it may take legal action to recover the amount owed.

If you have an outstanding complaint:

  • First, contact Holaluz’s customer service team (via the website, by telephone or by post) with your contract number, invoice and details of the reason for your complaint.
  • If you are not satisfied with the response, submit a written complaint (by email or post).
  • If the matter is still not resolved, you can lodge a complaint with the OMIC (Municipal Consumer Information Office) or contact the consumer affairs body in your autonomous community.
  • You can also make use of the mechanisms provided by the CNMC’s ENERGY CONSUMER OMBUDSMAN or bring a claim before the Commercial Courts, depending on the amount involved.
