When is it advisable to choose HolaLuz’s ‘Justa’ tariff?
Consistent consumption: If your electricity consumption remains relatively stable throughout the year, a flat-rate tariff may be a suitable option. This tariff allows you to pay a fixed amount each month, making it easier to plan your expenditure and avoiding any surprises on your bill.
Predictability and stability: With a flat-rate tariff, you’ll know exactly how much you’ll pay each month, regardless of fluctuations in consumption or electricity prices. This gives you financial stability and allows you to keep precise control over your electricity bills.
Heavy energy use: If your home or business has high energy consumption, a flat-rate tariff may be a good option. By paying a fixed amount, you won’t be affected by changes in energy prices or potential variations in time-of-use rates. This can be beneficial if you use a large number of electrical appliances or machines that require constant power.
Convenience and simplicity: A flat-rate tariff can be convenient if you’d rather avoid the hassle of managing your electricity contract. As you’ll have a fixed monthly amount, you won’t have to worry about making calculations or adjustments based on time-of-use bands or market prices.
What are the disadvantages of a flat-rate tariff?
- Possible overpayment: If your electricity consumption is lower than the fixed monthly amount of the flat-rate tariff, you may be paying more than necessary. In this case, you could save money by opting for a tariff that better matches your actual consumption.
- Lack of flexibility: With a flat-rate tariff, you won’t be able to take advantage of time-of-use tariffs, which offer lower prices at certain times of the day. If you are able to adjust your usage to cheaper times of day, you could save more with a variable tariff.
- Changes in usage: If your usage pattern varies significantly throughout the year, a flat-rate tariff may not suit your needs. During periods of higher or lower usage, you could end up paying more than necessary or face additional charges for exceeding the limits set out in the contract.

What are Holaluz’s electricity tariffs?
Holaluz offers three electricity tariffs for households. The Classic Tariff has a fixed price 24 hours a day: €0.139/kWh if you sign up online, or €0.149/kWh if you sign up by telephone. Tariff 3 has three bands: €0.232/kWh during peak hours, €0.153/kWh during standard hours and €0.134/kWh during off-peak hours. Both tariffs charge €0.120/kW per day for power during peak and off-peak hours, and the price remains fixed for 12 months. The Fair Tariff is a flat-rate tariff with a personalised monthly fee.
All prices are exclusive of tax. None of the three tariffs have a minimum contract period, and the energy is 100 per cent renewable with a guarantee of origin.
For an average household (287 kWh per month and 4.6 kW), the Classic Tariff online costs around €93 per month including tax, or around €97 if you sign up by telephone. Tariff 3, based on typical consumption patterns, costs around €103. You can see the details in the Classic Tariff and Tariff 3 information sheets.
Which Holaluz tariff is the cheapest?
For almost all households, the cheapest option is the Classic Tariff taken out online, at 0.139 €/kWh. Tariff 3 is only cheaper than this during off-peak hours, when it costs 0.134 €/kWh – just half a cent less. As soon as you use any electricity during off-peak hours (€0.153/kWh) or peak hours (€0.232/kWh), Tariff 3 works out more expensive.
With a typical consumption pattern, Tariff 3 costs around €10 a month more than the online Classic Tariff. It only matches the Classic Tariff taken out by telephone (€0.149/kWh) if around 70 per cent of your consumption is during off-peak hours and no more than 10 per cent during peak hours – which is quite unusual unless you have an electric car.
The Fair Tariff does not have a published price per kWh: a fixed charge is calculated based on your consumption. Ask for a quote and compare it with what you would pay under the Classic online tariff. For the same consumption, a flat-rate tariff is not usually cheaper than the best usage-based tariff from the same supplier.
How do you sign up with Holaluz and how do you contact them?
You can sign up for Holaluz online via their website or by telephone on 900 67 07 07, Monday to Thursday from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, and on Fridays and the days before public holidays from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. If you sign up for the Classic Tariff online, the price per kWh is one cent cheaper than if you sign up by telephone (€0.139 compared to €0.149).
To switch, you’ll need the account holder’s national identity number, the CUPS (which appears on your current bill) and a bank account. The switch does not involve any power cuts or meter changes, and Holaluz will take care of cancelling your previous contract. There is no minimum contract period.
Holaluz has also been selling natural gas since April 2026, when it resumed sales after ceasing them in 2022, and offers solar panel installation with specific tariffs for self-consumption.
